The Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado offers MBA options tailored to the needs of busy professionals as well as students who desire the flexibility a 100-percent online degree program can deliver.
Students can pursue the standard Master of Business Administration, or enroll in a specialized MBA program with a Concentration on Healthcare Administration or Human Resources Management. Each option offers students the opportunity to sharpen their skills and advance their careers in as few as 12 months.
Shared Program Components
Students in all three UNC MBA programs pay the same tuition rate per credit hour, which includes all required fees. They also complete the same structured series of core MBA courses, designed to develop the essential leadership qualities and business skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive and future-focused business environment.
This core sequence consists of 27 credit hours and features courses in managerial areas such as accounting, finance, supply chain, strategy and marketing. Students also complete advanced studies in:

- Data Analysis and Analytics.
After being accepted into the MBA program, students in each MBA program will take four business foundation modules that are provided free of charge: statistics, finance, economics and accounting.
Choice and Specialization
Master of Business Administration

Program professors bring strong academic and business credentials to their teaching, as well as experience in a variety of industries and management roles.
In addition to core and foundational courses, students choose nine hours of elective courses covering topics that match their interests and career ambitions. Electives offered at various times of the year focus on healthcare systems and data, quality assurance and evaluation, employment and business law, organizational management and change, and an array of special topics related to business trends or issues.
Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Healthcare Administration
This program provides students seeking an MBA with additional preparation for leadership positions in the healthcare industry — from hospitals, research programs, and community-based care facilities to nonprofit programs or government agencies. Understanding the business of medicine from both a human and financial perspective is critical in the 21st century, and this specialization comprises three courses that prepare students for a variety of roles they can play in modern healthcare:
- Healthcare Systems.
- Healthcare by the Numbers.
- Managing Qualitative Issues in Healthcare Organizations.
Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Human Resource Management
This MBA program is designed for current and future human resources professionals, with a three-course specialization that focuses on issues facing employees and the organizations they serve. In addition to the core and foundational sequences, students with an HR concentration complete the following courses relevant to their career goals:
